This path was a short walk down (1.5km from our place in Dinner Plain) to a viewing platform overlooking Carmichael Falls. The walk was a bit muddy in parts, but overall very well groomed. Halfway down, there was a side path off the main trail to a set of two small cascades. Each time we passed, it was filled with families enjoying the area. All unaware that the actual vantage point was another kilometre further down hill. We had the bonus of being the only people to actually make it down to enjoy the true lookout. The trail was down hill the entire way which, of course, means it’s all up hill on the return…if I had small kids in tow, I too would have opted for the small cascade and half the walk time.
