My daughter just returned from school and the weather is our favourite – it’s 16c and rainy. So I suggested she and I go for a walk in the glorious cool rain so we can enjoy it before our 32c days return. Normally I know she would be game but today she scoffed at me.

“Mommy, I just played cricket for two hours straight. I am not going anywhere.”
